Technique Spotlight
This month I am continuing with the embossing techniques I started last month. The added twist is that embossed images are great for resist techniques. I will show you two ways to use clear embossing powder to resist added color with dramatically different results.

The Techniques this month are called:

  1. Embossing Watercolor Resist
  2. Modified Joseph's Coat

Embossing Watercolor Resist
In this technique, an image is embossed using clear embossing powder. Color is then added on top of the image with a Watercolor Wonder Crayon. The color is evenly smoothed out with an Aquapainter and then the excess color is removed with a paper towel.

Modified Joseph's Coat
In this technique an image is stamped in a light color on neutral card stock. A bold image is embossed over top with clear embossing powder. A brayer is used to cover the entire project with a darker color. Excess color is wiped off with a paper towel and the lighter pattern will show through the embossed images.
