Back to Main Tips Page Baby Wipes to Create Tie-Dyed Background
Instructions: Lay a baby wipe in a Powder Pal or other plastic container. Place drops of ink from a Classic ink refill onto the baby wipe. I used Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal and So Saffron Classic ink refills for this project. As you drip the ink onto the baby wipe, do not place the drops directly on top of each other. Move your hand as your drop the ink, creating a mosaic of color. You only need to create a circle of color in the center of the baby wipe. To create the look of the background in this sample, pick up the wipe by the edges and dab the colored section onto glossy cardstock. Continue dabbing until you have the color coverage you desire. To create the look behind the butterfly, pick up the baby wipe and drag it across the glossy cardstock. Let the cardstock dry and then finish the card by stamping over the background pieces you have created. This techniques works best with glossy cardstock, because of how much moisture is transferred to the cardstock through the baby wipe. You can use regular cardstock, but it may bow and pill, because of the amount of moisture. |
