Crayon Resist

Instructions:

Stamp your image. This sample uses glossy cardstock, so a black StazOn ink pad was used. You could also create this sample with Whisper White card stock and a Classic Black ink pad.

After stamping, allow the ink to dry if you are using glossy card stock.

Use a white crayon to color parts of your image. It is difficult to see where you have colored, so I generally work from right to left.

Use a Stampin' sponge or sponge daubers to color in your image with the classic ink colors of your choice. You can also use a brayer if you only wish to use one color.

After you have colored in the image, wipe with a Kleenex or paper towel to remove the excess ink that has stuck to the wax. This finishing step really makes your white colored areas "pop".

To add further interest to this sample, Stampin' Write Markers were used to add additional highlights of color.

Here is another sample. It is more  difficult to see the white areas when using a lighter color of ink.

This sample also shows you that you do not have to use black ink for your images to incorporate the crayon resist technique.
