Dyeing Pretties Kit Flowers & Ribbon

Instructions: The Pretties Kit flowers come in a beautiful white that complements any color scheme, but sometimes you want something with a bit more pop. Stampin' Up! carries over 30 colors of ribbon, but occasionally you need a color that we don't carry.

Start with a Pretties Kit flower and some Whisper White ribbon. I am using the Satin ribbon from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Cut your ribbon to the correct length before starting.
I used a medium stamp and store box, because it keeps the mess to a minimum and is easy to rinse out. Start with a small amount of water, just a teaspoon or two.
Add a few drops of classic ink. This is Summer Sun. The lighter the color, the more ink you need to add to the water.
Add the Pretties flower and use tweezers to move it around until it is fully saturated with ink.

If you are concerned about dyeing your fingers, you can also wear rubber gloves.

Add the ribbon and move it around until it is also saturated.

If all the liquid gets absorbed and the items you are dyeing are not saturated, just add a bit more water and ink.

Remove the ribbon and blot dry on a paper towel. Repeat for the flower.

The dyed items will still be slightly moist and will need to air dry for at least 30 minutes. If you can't wait that long, then just use a hair dryer to speed up the drying process.
