| Instructions: Normally to paint with Pearl Ex powder, you have to mix it with a liquid medium, but this technique is the exception to that rule. You can use Future Floor polish in a aquapainter and this will allow you to dip directly into the powder and paint. Water causes the powder to clump. The other positive of this technique is that the floor polish seals the Pearl Ex onto the image, so there is no need to spray seal or worry about smearing. | ||||

Start by stamping your image in Basic Black or Basic Brown. You need to use a waterproof ink, so the image will not run while you paint. StazOn ink would also be a good choice for this technique. If you wish to have a background, make sure to stamp this before painting with the Pearl Ex.

Fill up an aquapinter with Future Floor polish. This aquapainter needs to be dedicated to this technique in the future. I do not recommend trying to rinse it out and return it to water usage. You may have mixed results. Paint in the areas that you wish to add the beautiful, shiny color. Flamingo Pink Pearl Ex was used in this sample. The floor polish will seal the Pearl Ex as it dries.
| Here is the finished project. Like the other Pearl Ex samples I have added, the scan does not begin to show how truly sparkly and shiny the pink dragonfly wings are. | ||||
