| Instructions: This card uses a standard piece of cardstock cut the long way, 4 1/4" x 11, scored at 5 1/2" | ||||
|
|
To start creating the pocket, score the card a second time 1 to 1 1/2" from one of the ends.

When you fold along the score marks, you get a standard card that is shorter on one side.

If you wish to add ribbon, or any other embellishment along the pocket edge, you need to do it before you adhere the flap down. This will keep the ribbon from interfering from the insert piece as it slides in and out of the card.

Use sticky strip to attach the fold down over the ribbon. I also added the piece of DS paper to the card now, because I wanted it to slide up under the flap.

Create the inside of the card. The dimensions of the inside need to be at least a 1/4" shorter than the card and about 1" narrower. This allows room for the adhesive and permits the inside piece to slide easily. My inside piece is 5 1/4" x 3 1/4". It is helpful to attach a piece of ribbon or cardstock to the top to help with pulling the piece out.

Apply sticky strip along the edges of the inside of the card to finish creating your pocket. You want to put it as close to the edges as possible to provide the most room for your insert to slide easily.
| Here is the finished pocket with the insert. This card also makes a great invitation or announcement. | ||||
