Back to Main Tips Page Creating a Punch Template
Instructions: A Punch template is a tool that will help you create your layouts and determine the right punch to use for each project. It is best to use a window sheet for this template, because you can see around the punched out space as well as the punch itself. It can be hard to punch through the window sheet with larger punches. Place a sheet of copy paper behind the sheet and that will make it easier to punch the larger images. To create the template, work your way around the edge of the window sheet, punching each shape once. You will want to use a permanent marker to label your shapes, and you will want to leave room to add new punch shapes as you acquire them. You will notice in the upper left hand corner, I have a gap with a small dot, this is where the 3/4 inch square punch will go. I did not use any of the corner punches, because those punches are not designed to fit around the images in the catalog.
