| Instructions: To begin this technique, you need two colors of ink that are very different shades. The more different they are, the more obvious the result of the technique will be. Also, a stamp with a large flat surface of rubber is best. | ||||

|
Start by inking up your stamp completely in the lighter color ink you have chosen. For this sample, I am working with Pixie Pink and Purely Pomegranate. I start by inking the flower petal with a Pixie Pink Classic ink pad.

Next I take the stamp that is still covered with Pixie Pink Classic ink and I rock it around on the surface of the Purely Pomegranate Classic stamp pad. The goal is to get ink on the rubber, but only on the edges. You want to avoid getting the darker color in the center.

You can see how the darker ink is only along the edges of the rubber surface. Now take and place onto a neutral cardstock. One important aspect of this technique is you have to wash the stamp every time you use it. If you do not, then you will get the darker ink color onto your lighter stamp pad and the colors will also become muddy.

Here are some finished petals. You will notice that each one if different, because it all depends on how much Purely Pomegranate ink was picked up.
