Creating Snow on Projects - Dec 05

During the wintertime, it is always fun to bring snow into your stamping projects. Whether you are creating a card, gift tag or scrapbook page, there are lots of ways to create a snowy scene to capture the beauty of this season.

The simplest way to create a "snowy" look is to stamp using white craft ink. This looks beautiful on darker shades of cardstock. My favorite for this technique is Night of Navy. Because the craft ink stays wet, you can use it to attach iridescent ice embossing powder or heat and stick powder and then dazzling diamonds glitter to create a sparkly dimension to your snow.

If you want to color in or shade a stamped image with the appearance of snow, there are a few different methods. You can use the white watercolor wonder crayon, a blender pen and white stampin' pastels, or you can water color using the white craft ink and an aquapainter or watercolor brush.

Finally, liquid appliqué is the way to go if you want to create 3-D snow on your stamped project. Simply apply it directly to the paper and then heat it with a heat gun. When it gets hot, it rises and gets puffy.

I hope you will have fun experimenting with all of these different techniques as you stamp the winter away. Please contact me to purchase any of the products I have mentioned, or if you have any questions.
