Surprise Swing Card

Instructions:

Start with a standard card body (Kraft) and two pieces of cardstock that measure 4 1/4" by 3".
Add any embellishments to the bottom piece of cardstock. I chose to use the Eyelet border punch. Lay the cardstock on the front of the card, lining it up with the bottom. This will let you position your surprise phrase correctly.
Stamp the words on the front of the card and then attach the bottom piece of cardstock to the card front on the sides and along the bottom.

Make sure not to put adhesive along the top edge, because the second piece of cardstock needs to slip underneath.

Tie a ribbon around the top piece of cardstock or add a different embellishment.
Slide the top piece of cardstock under the bottom piece so they overlap by at least 1/4". Use the paper piercing tool and mat to poke a hole to place a brad. The brad will act as the hinge.
Put in the brad.

The brad is the only thing holding the top piece of cardstock onto the card. Do not use any additional adhesive or the piece will not swing porperly.

Stamp and color the front image.
Attach the image only to the top piece of cardstock.
Here is the finished project "closed" and "opened"

Here is the "opened" front.
